The EVP series from Wharfedale was designed with a single goal in mind: to
simply outclass the competitor's midrange speaker cabinets. Featuring a top
quality compression driver, ergonomic handles, and speaker protection circuitry,
you could even say that there is no competition! The all-new EVP-S family
features significant improvements to the already excellent and successful EVP
range. Our all new WP-M44 compression driver is a purpose built ''real'' driver
with a special 44mm Mylar based diaphragm and radial slit phase plug. This high
quality design gives low distortion with very high output levels. The frequency
response of this new driver extends out beyond 20kHz for a smooth open high end
with exceptional output power.
This W-M44 driver represents a breakthrough in this product class and above. To
save money, competitors typically use off the shelf, low quality piezo drivers.
To build in sound quality and reliability, Wharfedale Pro builds their own
drivers and using real crossovers with limiter/protection for the HF section.
The sonic improvement found in the EVP-S family is dramatic and immediately
apparent.
The powerful and efficient woofers used in each of the systems are purpose built
for each model. No off-the-shelf components thrown into a box, these systems
give high output and efficiency with reliability and strength.
